On March 23, 2010, at 6:30 P.M., Saint Joseph Catholic School will be hosting the local finals for the Scripps National Spelling Bee, in Washington, D.C. Thanks to event sponsors, Coastal Orthopedics and Pain Management, one lucky Bradenton speller will win a trip to participate in Bee Week 2010 and compete against other spellers from across the United States. Saint Joseph 8th grader, Sarah Coffey will be representing our school.
The First Annual Coastal Orthopedics and Pain Management Bee hosted by Saint Joseph Catholic School will showcase our area’s finest spellers. Saint Joseph student, Sarah Coffey will compete against other finalists in grades 5-8, from Haile Middle, Lincoln Middle, McNeal Elementary, Rowlett Elementary, Tillman Elementary, King Middle, and Nolan Middle. We wish them luck and know that they will all be studying right up until the last moment to prepare for the competition. Judges for the event include: Mayor Wayne Poston, Bradenton Chief of Police Michael Radzilowski and Deputy Chief William Tokajer, and City Council Members Marianne Barneby and Gene Gallo.
